Intro to EcoDistricts
Within the world of green rating systems, LEED provides a model for building-level sustainability, for single-entity controlled community developments, for campuses, and for cities, but it does not have a model for neighborhoods/districts that are undergoing major redevelopment. EcoDistricts is a way for districts and neighborhoods to guide urban development to empower just, sustainable, and resilient neighborhoods. EcoDistricts has just released a certification program to recognize those districts that have achieved the goals established through the protocol and an accreditation for people working to create and sustain EcoDistricts. This session will walk through the EcoDistrict Protocol, provide an introduction to the certification process and introduce the accreditation. Taste of Green
earthday365 will host its annual Taste of Green fundraising party from 6 – 9 pm on Thursday, November 14 with the theme, Throwback Thursday – 1989! The celebration will take place at the event space at St. Louis ArtWorks, 5959 Delmar in the Loop East, and feature food tastings and drinks by 25 restaurants in the Green Dining Alliance, an earthday365 program which helps local restaurants reduce their environmental impact. Festivities will include ‘80s mix-tape music, a silent auction, and Thanksgiving-themed raffles, free caricatures, and more! 1989 was the year of St. Louis’ first Earth Day Festival. In honor of that, Taste of Green: Throwback Thursday – 1989! encourages attendees to throwback to the ‘80s magic with totally epic attire and hairstyles! Tickets start at $60 each. Introduction to Beekeeping
Bees play an important role in agriculture as pollinators of flowering plants that provide food, fiber, spices, medicines and animal forage. Beekeeping can be a hobby, a secondary business, or a full-time vocation. It is a relatively inexpensive hobby that provides a sweet bonus each year. Is beekeeping right for you? Holiday Cheers Market! The holiday market will take place on November
23 from 1-6 PM (the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving) and will feature
local vendors, live music, and food & drink specials throughout the
afternoon.
Vendors will be spread out throughout the event space and lobby area
of The Old Bakery Beer Company and will feature a large array of items

Unfried and Erin Jo Paddlefoot.
